How do I book a seat?

You can make a reservation by clicking here. You may also book over the phone, by calling us at +39 340 97 17 272 (9 am – 7.00 pm CET).

Are seats numbered? How do I choose my seat?

It is not possible to book specific seats as they are not numbered; you may choose your seat after receiving all the instructions from the staff at the front desk.

In order to enter Musica a Palazzo, I have to fill in a form and purchase a membership card, could I have further information about this?

Musica a Palazzo is an activity promoted by the Dimensione Lirica cultural association, therefore you need to be a member to participate in its activities. You can become a member by filling in an application form and subsequently you will receive your membership card. The membership card expires on December 31st and it does not renew automatically.

When do I have to fill in the form?

In order to participate in any of our activities, each person has to fill in a membership application form; it can be filled in at the entrance. It can also be downloaded from this link. Please print it (one per person) and submit it at the front desk. Forms sent by e-mail are not accepted.

Will my personal data be communicated to third parties?

Your personal data will only be stored in the Dimensione Lirica members’ register and not disclosed to any third party.

Is there a minimum age for children?

Our activities are not suitable for children under the age of 5.

What time does Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto open?

Our evening shows start at 8:30 pm and are 2 hours long.

The doors to the halls open at 8 pm and close at 8:30 pm. Admission is not guaranteed after curtain time.

In case a specific show starts at a different time (e.g. 5 pm), you will be informed by e-mail or when trying to make your booking.

Is it possible to have the libretto of the opera that I have booked?

You can purchase the Italian-English libretto of the opera at the palace entrance.

Is it possible to take photos during the performance?

Photos are allowed only before and after the performance, and during the two intervals.

We kindly ask you to not take photos or videos during the performance itself because it could disturb our musicians and singers and the other attendees.

What is the recommended dress code?

The recommended dress code is evening casual. Formal clothing is recommended but not compulsory.

Is the Palazzo fully accessible?

To access the rooms where the show takes place, guests have to climb a staircase of 30 steps, divided into two flights of 15 steps each. There is no elevator.

Where is it possible for me to have dinner before or after the performance?

In the area surrounding Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto and in Campo Santo Stefano (in the direction of Accademia) you will find plenty of excellent restaurants and traditional Venetian “osterie” (taverns). If you wish to have dinner after the evening performance – that generally ends by 10.30 pm – we recommend you call the restaurant you have chosen in order to check their kitchen closing times. Nearby restaurants include La Caravella, il Ristorante al Giglio, A Beccafico, however, if you fancy just a quick snack, you could go to the American bar Tarnowska.

How to reach Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto

Musica a Palazzo is located in Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto, its main façade overlooking the Grand Canal. The entrance (n. 2504) is on the back of the building and can be reached from Fondamenta Duodo o Barbarigo, a small street along a canal, behind the Chiesa di Santa Maria del Giglio, less than 10 minutes away from Piazza San Marco.

This area is served by the vaporetto/waterbus line 1 (see below).

How to reach Venice by car

If you arrive by car, you can park in one of the private car parks in Piazzale Roma or Piazzale del Tronchetto. The car park stays open all night,  so you won’t have any problem picking up your car after the performance (although we recommend you call the your parking facility to check its closing time).

Arriving by steamboat (vaporetto)

If you decide to travel by vaporetto/waterbus, you need to reach the “Giglio” stop on line 1. Once you arrive there, follow the Calle Gritti alley and turn left as soon as you can. You will find yourself in front of a bridge over which you will see a small yellow sign that reads “Musica a Palazzo”.

Line 1 stops at all major Venice tourist attractions: San Marco, Rialto, Accademia, Piazzale Roma and Ferrovia. The vaporetti run all night, so you won’t have any problems to going back to your accommodation in the city after the performance.

Arriving by taxi

In case you prefer taking a taxi, you can book one via the Consorzio Motoscafi Venezia website. In order to reach Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto, ask your taxi driver to take you to the Rio de Santa Maria del Giglio and dock underneath the porticoes by the Locanda Barbarigo.
